As of today, there are landmark legal changes to sexual consent.

Individuals must seek clear consent before having sex, which is a change designed to make it easier for police and prosecutors to prove sexual assault cases.

The new changes are to ensure both physical and verbal signs are considered when determining whether someone agreed to a sexual encounter.

“I know the government is trying to do the right thing, but when relationships go pear-shaped, sometimes people are prepared to go to extreme lengths to damage their former partner,” he said.

“When the bedroom enters the courtroom, it’s a recipe for trouble.”
