Ben Fordham is urging the government not to neglect other health issues as the pandemic rages on.

79 Australians have died with COVID-19 this year while 58,000 Aussies died from other causes over the same period.

These deaths include cancer, dementia, heart disease, strokes and suicides from January to May.

“These are things we’re going to have to look at after the pandemic, but we should be dealing with them during the pandemic instead of pretending there’s one threat in town,” Ben said.

There are concerns people are putting off cancer screenings during Sydney’s COVID outbreak.

“The message is, for all of us, do not ignore the warning signs.”
