Ben Fordham is demanding answers from Campbelltown City Council over a broken infrastructure promise.

Listener Bob tipped Ben off to the case of a multi-million-dollar state-of-the-art sports facility at Western Sydney University in Campbelltown, pledged in 2016 by the federal government and never delivered by the promised date of June 2021.

“The site for the Centre of Excellence is made up of empty grass and a dirt patch.

“Nothing’s happened.”

Inquiries revealed the $7 million in funding was in fact provided to Campbelltown Council in 2018, and has been sitting in the bank ever since.

“They keep getting caught in red tape and shifting the goalposts!”
