Ben Fordham is calling for more people from Western Sydney to receive Australia Day honours.

Despite half of Sydney’s population living in the west, they represented only 10 per cent of OAM’s this year.

Ben says this has to change.

“Rose Bay has just 10,000 residents … three people from Rose Bay received an OAM,” Ben said.

“Blacktown Council has 400,000 people, but despite being 40 times the size of Rose Bay, Blacktown had just 1 OAM.”

Ben has detailed a pattern of underrepresentation evident in past years.
