Ben Fordham is calling upon the government to give truckies a “fair go” after the latest results of the 2021 Australian census.

Ben compared the cost of living from last year to this year, and the results are “mind-blowing”.

The cost of petrol, car insurance premiums, mortgage repayments, rents, power bills and produce have all skyrocketed.

Transport costs are having a massive impact and Ben believes it’s because truck drivers were “dudded” on the cut to the fuel tax.

“While motorists received temporary relief, truckies were stripped of their petrol rebates,” Ben said.

“The NSW Government’s announced recently motorists could claim $750 back in tolls, but guess who doesn’t qualify? Truckies!”

“A message to Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers and NSW Treasurer Matt Kean, start giving our truckies a fair go.”
