A big Boxing Day of cricket continues with an early-season crunch clash between rivals Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars at the WACA.

Fresh off a comfortable six-wicket win over Sydney Sixers, the
Scorchers play at home for the first time this season and are
bolstered by the inclusion of Michael Klinger in their 13-man squad.

In other team news, Melbourne Stars lose Kevin Pietersen – as he returns to England for the festive break – while regaining Peter Handscomb in the process, who was released by the Australian Test side to play in Perth.

Bragging rights aside, tonight’s match is crucial for both sides. The Scorchers will want to continue their winning form while the Stars will no doubt be keen to notch up a victory for the first time in BBL|07 before a crucial return clash against Brisbane Heat next Tuesday.
