The Deputy Prime Minister is questioning why someone in the Liberal Party would leak texts against the Prime Minister in the middle of an election year.

Questions are being raised about who leaked alleged text messages between former Premier Gladys Berejiklian and a cabinet minister, calling Prime Minister Scott Morrison a “fraud” and a “horrible person”.

Barnaby Joyce told Ben Fordham the leak is a “real einstein”.

“There are three people who know about this message, the former premier of NSW, themselves, and the media … oh hang on, did I say three? I meant 3000.

“It’s about one dinner and two bottles of red wine before the whole world knows about it.

“This person has got their pom-poms out and is dancing a jig waiting for Mr Albanese, Penny Wong and The Greens to come and run the country.”
