Affairs Minister Matt Keogh has confirmed a backlog of over 42,000 compensation claims for veterans.

The Federal Government is promising to make changes, making it easier for former military personnel to claim compensation.

Veterans Affairs Minister has not given a firm date for when the new legislation will be in place.

NSW RSL President Ray James told Chris O’Keefe about the number of veterans that need help.

“It’s a start, but it’s well overdue,” James said.
