The Transport Workers’ Union has called on major transport businesses to help shoulder the rising costs of fuel as they also request an urgent Fair Work Commission conference this week.

TWU national secretary Michael Kaine says the industry is under “incredible” pressure.

“The workers that perform this work so critical … We don’t want them under additional pressure. So this is an important application,” he told Michael McLaren.
