Netball star Caitlin Bassett has spoken out about her experience of a ‘fractured’ dressing room amid speculation of a divide within Manchester United Football Club.

The former Giants goal shooter and Australian Diamonds captain told Bill Woods a support network is crucial for embattled sportspeople in a team environment.

“There’s honesty sessions you can have, and there needs to be solutions come out of them – you can’t just stand up and point fingers.

“For me it’s lack of communication: it was very plain for everyone, fans and media, to see that I wasn’t getting court time, but there was nothing really being said about it.

“That makes it even more awkward.”
