Australia’s flag-bearers for the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony have been named.

Kookaburras Co-Captain Eddie Ockenden and six-time squash representative Rachael Grinham have been given the honour.

It is only the second time that there have been co-flag bearers for Australia.

Ockenden joined Ben Fordham and described the moment the Governor-General asked him to accept the honour.

“It was really nice they took the effort to make it so nice for us.”
