Australians are calling out the hurdles they face to redeem more than $1.3 billion in travel credits.

Airlines have been accused of creating rules that make the vouchers difficult to use.

Customers are now having to spend extra money to rebook flights, forbidden from combining credits, and forced to pay for higher fares due to confusing terms and conditions.

Aviation Writer Robyn Ironside told Chris O’Keefe the procedures airlines have put in place to redeem credits are completely unnecessary.

“It’s mindboggling, they really are making it as difficult as possible.”
