Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur is out of the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive to COVID-19, Australian Chef de Mission Ian Chesterman has announced.

The 22-year-old had been travelling internationally for the Wimbledon tournament, and had not yet arrived in Tokyo.

The rest of the Australian Olympic team are not impacted.
