Australia Post ‘disappointed’ after ANZ cuts Bank@Post deal

Article image for Australia Post ‘disappointed’ after ANZ cuts Bank@Post deal

ANZ customers across the country have lost access to Bank@Post services after the bank failed to reach an agreement with Australia Post.

Small businesses and customers in regional Australia will be hit the hardest as they don’t live close to an ANZ branch.

It comes after the bank closed 63 branches, 40 of which were in regional areas.

Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and NAB have already agreed to the deal.

Australia Post Chief Executive Christine Holgate tells Ross Greenwood she’s “disappointed”.

“We respect ANZ’s decision and they are a large customer to us for many other services.

“But clearly we’re disappointed that they don’t want to support us.”
