Australian singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke is returning to the stage for her upcoming ‘Child In Reverse’ Tour this July and has revealed what gave her the strength to come forward after suffering abuse.

Kate told Deborah Knight she gained motivation from her latest song amid suffering abuse from her great-grandfather in the past.

“I know that writing songs that come from a place of true emotion gives a power,” she said.

Kate said certain emotions give “grounds” for her songs.

“It makes me feel less alone.”
