Aussie Winter Olympian Danielle O’Brien is fighting to save the Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink.

The rink is notorious for nurturing and helping produce more than 20 other Olympians.

It is now under threat of permanent closure after fears its roof may collapse.

Danielle O’Brien told Joe Hildebrand for future skaters it’s “disappointing” as they have nowhere to practise.

“We do have a plan … we want it to be around for another 51 years.”
