Aussie director reveals ‘awkward’ scenes behind all-star film

Australian director Trent O’Donnell, who worked on the likes of Brooklyn 99 and New Girl, has added to his repertoire with new movie Ride The Eagle.

Actress D’Arcy Carden stars in the movie alongside lead Jake Johnson, but Mr O’Donnell told Deborah Knight the two were never actually in the same room together.

“Awkwardly, I ended up reading all of D’Arcy’s stuff when we were up at Yosemite, in this remote cabin with no phone.

“It was just me reading all of D’Arcy’s stuff offscreen, even the phone sex scenes and stuff like that. It was a very weird night.”

Ride The Eagle will be available everywhere cinemas are open on September 9, and ACT, VIC and regional NSW from September 23.
