A leading vet is appealing for the importation and approval of a pet-friendly COVID vaccine.

“It’s going to be an emerging problem that we need to be prepared for”.

Although there are no COVID cases confirmed in Australia, there is no clear answer due to a lack of testing.

Dr Sam Kovac has been trying since August last year to get approval for the vaccine but has run through issues with fees, proof, and waiting time.

He tells Chris O’Keefe that a pet vaccine is a “priority” after recent cases have been confirmed to domestic pets overseas.
