Former Labor powerbroker Graham Richardson is going in to bat for Gladys Berejiklian as ICAC investigates whether she’s corrupt.

Mr Richardson admits he’s never been friends with Ms Berejiklian but says the idea that she’s corrupt is “so absurd”.

“If she’s corrupt then I don’t understand the meaning of the word,” he told Ben Fordham.

“I’ve known Gladys Bereijklian on and off for 20 years and there’s no way in the world you can describe this woman as anything but an honest woman.

“I think it’s just terrible what’s happened to her.”
