Amazing surf initiative coming to Bondi
A couple of surfers from West Australia have banded together to teach autistic kids how to surf.
Drowning is the leading cause of death for children on the spectrum under the age of 18.
Ocean Heroes aims to enhance the lives of those living with Autism through surfing and will be holding a session at Bondi Beach.
Bondi Lifeguard Andrew Reid and Sam Moyle, co-founder of Ocean Heros, tells John Stanley it helps children feel more involved and independent.
“These volunteers manage to get these kids from being these scared, potentially really timid and hesitant kids, on the sand and get them into the surf.”
