Alan Jones has revealed how he chose his famous theme song, Gloria, on the anniversary of singer Laura Branigan’s death.

The American singer died on this day 15 years ago after a brain aneurysm at the age of just 47.

Her song Gloria, which has been the theme music for The Alan Jones Breakfast Show for over 30 years, stayed on the US Billboard Hot 100 for 36 weeks in 1982.

Alan paid tribute to her on his show this morning, revealing he chose the song after they had dinner together.

“She actually suggested to use the song! And it just seemed to have this particular ring to it.”
