AFP Commissioner Reece Kershaw has revealed ‘Operation Guardian’ will be expanded to combat further cybercrime.

The expansion will help protect Latitude Financial Services customers whose personal information was stolen by cybercriminals.

The joint initiative program was set up in September last year and is now working with public and private sector agencies to scour the internet to identify those who are attempting to buy or are selling personally identifiable information.

Commissioner Kershaw told Ray Hadley the AFP will take immediate action through disruption capability and charges.

“We’ll come after you and be relentless.”
