It’s a big night in sport as Round One of the AFL season kicks off in Melbourne tonight.

90,000 people are set to hit the MCG to watch the reigning premiers, the Richmond Tigers, take on their fierce rivals Carlton from 7:30 pm.

Richmond Tigers CEO Brendon Gale tells Chris Kenny what the crowds can expect.

“[There’s] a lot of rivalry, a lot of tradition and fans love to be part of it.”

Chris asks Brendon whether he’ll be keeping his eye on the NRL, with the Melbourne Storm taking on the Cowboys tonight at AAMI Park.

He admits he didn’t know the Storm was even playing until late this afternoon.

“I’ve got a bit of tunnel vision… it’ll be a great night I’m sure for them, as well,” he says.
