Deborah Knight has paid tribute to late mother-in-law Connie Dunbar, who contracted COVID amid an outbreak in her Canberra nursing home.

Connie passed away last night aged 88. Despite being fully vaccinated, and without obvious symptoms, she was unable to beat the virus.

The Calvary Haydon retirement community outbreak has now claimed several lives.

Deborah pleaded with all listeners to get vaccinated, if not for their own health then to save the lives of others.

“Behind every single death, and behind every single number is a grieving family.

“COVID is cruel, and for anyone doubting how cruel it is – or even questioning whether COVID’s real – I can tell you it is all too real.”
