Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will push for tougher gun laws when the National Cabinet gathers later today.

“What we saw yesterday was an act of pure evil, an act of terror, an act of anti-Semitism. An attack on the first day of Hanukkah targeted at the Jewish community,” he said.

‘We’re prepared to take whatever action is necessary,” he continued.

He has confirmed an extension to the funding of the National Council for Jewish Security and its state-based community groups in the light of Sunday’s tragic terror attack.

Albanese says work has started with Jewish community organisations in order to help support charity efforts.
