‘Absolutely beautiful’: Café customer steps in to help carry the load

Chris O'Keefe

Last Wednesday morning, Miss Effie’s Kitchen in Noosaville, Queensland was sufferings bad staff shortages, so Janet Gull decided to get to work.

Janet went to the café to have a lovely breakfast with her husband, and later came back to wash some dishes and help out.

Owner of Miss Effie’s Kitchen, Fiona McDermott, said the gesture was “absolutely beautiful”.

“Janet finished her breakfast, went home and came back half an hour later to be put to work,” Fiona told Chris O’Keefe.
