A grandmother has died after being hit by a garbage truck

A 58-year-old grandmother pushing her grandson in his pram has been hit and killed by a garbage truck on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The woman was hit at around 11.45am today on Moorilla Road in Dee Why.
She suffered critical injuries and despite best efforts of paramedics died at the scene.
Her grandson was fortunately uninjured.
The driver of the garbage truck was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
