BlueScope CEO Mark Vassella has delivered a stark warning, stating that Australian manufacturing is at a “dangerous crossroad” and risks a collapse similar to the UK’s steel industry in the 1970s.

Vassella said the chief concern for over 500 companies is the exorbitant cost of energy, which is threatening the entire industrial base and the jobs of thousands of Australians.
