Renault Captur: top of class ride quality for small vehicles
Small SUV’s are the flavour of the month with Mitsubishi’s ASX the big seller, followed by the Mazda CX-3, the Nissan Qashqai and Subaru’s XV. The Mitsubishi ASX offers much for the money, a value buy with 2.0-litre engine, good interior room and good specification for the money. If you want something a little different Renault has recently refreshed its small 2WD Captur SUV – I drove the 1.2-litre four-cylinder turbo Captur Intense six speed automatic, a really pleasant five-door with French flair and innovation – you’ll pay more, $30,990 drive-away but it’s a delightful driver with absolutely fabulous seats. With a rear view camera and rear parking sensors, cruise control with a speed limited, colour touch screen and Sat Nav it offers much but costs a little more. Drive-ability is its high point – it has a very relaxed performance and never feels flustered, has a great two tier luggage space and the ride quality for such a small vehicle is top of class.
