Michael McLaren has condemned the heinous attack on Indi MP Helen Haines as more details about the suspect come to light.

He’s described it as un-Australian and agreed with the Prime Minister, who has repeatedly called for the temperature to be lowered, but McLaren says we need to question why it’s been rising in the first place.

He also points out the attack on Ms Haines is not the first, highlighting the murders of Cabramatta MP John Newman in 1994 and Donald MacKay in 1977.
