Earlier in the week, two subsea communication cables were damaged off the coast of Perth, with the AFP urged to look into it.

Senior Research Fellow David Brewster at the Australian National University joined 2GB Afternoons to speak about how the subsea cables could’ve been damaged and how important they are for the daily lives of all Australians.

“If those cables are severely disrupted, there is no internet for Australia,” Brewster said.
