Michael McLaren has unpacked the hidden motivations behind the scenes on Thursday of the Ceuta Invasion that saw tens of thousands of migrants swim into Spanish Territory.

The 2GB Afternoons host has pointed out a mass movement like the one the world witnessed doesn’t happen by chance – which he says represents the dread of potentially losing control of their borders,

“But it seems it’s a dread the government of Morocco understands very well indeed because it’s been suggested (although not proved) that Rabat deliberately encouraged those young men to flood the zone. In other words, it’s a dread the Moroccans may well have weaponised,” he said.

“It’s important to remember that what the world saw at Ceuta wasn’t the desperate movement of starving, destitute people fleeing war or famine. It was a voluntary tsunami of mainly athletic-looking young men in the prime of their life trying their luck to break into Europe through the back door,” he added.
