Lucy Zelić has taken issue with comments made by Liberal frontbencher Melissa McIntosh, who claimed her party was in need of a rebrand.

She’s detailed what has led to the rise of One Nation but noted that the LNP has been given plenty of opportunity since the 2025 federal election to make inroads with its voter base.

“Is this the best they’ve got? Personal wars with One Nation? Debates about rebranding and sidestepping a very simple question about multiculturalism? … it’s not hard to recognise why the LNP are tanking in the polls; the pattern is familiar,” she said.
