‘Play by the rules’ – Fair Trading Minister calls out petrol stations
The NSW Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading has called on petrol stations to do the right thing as Australians try to cope with the fuel crisis.
Anoulack Chanthivong has told Michael McLaren service station operators need to ensure their advertised price matches the price they’re selling fuel for.
“We have the power to ask for a ‘Please Explain [In regards to price gouging]’ … We are making sure that the price that people pay at the bowser is equal to the price of that actually inserted,” he said.
