‘It’s unfair’ – Flag expert’s social media pages wiped clean for no reason
A flag expert has told Michael McLaren his Facebook pages have been wiped clean for no reason.
Vexillographer John Vaughan says Meta initially gave him 180 days’ notice, then changed it to 30 days, and eventually required him to do an ID check before they suspended his account.
“Erased is the word, erased … all my posts to friendly Facebook pages. My friends, they are all gone too,” he said.
Shadow minister for fair trading Tim James says it defies belief and doesn’t understand why Meta would take the pages down.
“He’s done amazing things for our area and continues to do so for our community and country. And so I’ve reached out to Meta and said, ‘Please, Â have this rectified. Bring back John Vaughan and his pages.’ I can’t for the life of me understand how they could possibly justify removing them,” he said.
