Nurse lifts lid on the issues plaguing Blacktown Hospital’s emergency department
A nurse at Blacktown Hospital has lifted the lid on the hospital’s emergency department, revealing three mental health patients have been in the ED for over 100 hours.
Shadow Health Minister Sarah Mitchell has told Clinton Maynard that there is a range of issues hospitals are facing.
“I think there are some real problems there when it comes to the lack of mental health beds, and that’s pretty clear,” she said.
She also says this is an issue across the state.
“I know about that happening in regional communities, where often that’s the only place for people to go, is to the local ED as well,” she added.
