Michael McLaren has warned Australia needs to invest heavily in water infrastructure as the ongoing conflict in the Middle East serves as a “timely reminder”.

The 2GB Afternoons host says questions are now being asked about Australia’s ability to guarantee water for areas which will see significant demand in the future.

“For all the talk about the need for more and more housing, as the head of Infrastructure Australia says, the pressure on water supplies will make that task very difficult,” he said.
