Clinton Maynard is calling for an immediate end to the $5.1 billion electric vehicle subsidy, labeling the blowout in taxpayer spending a clear case of “upper class welfare.”

He argues that with petrol prices heading toward $3 a liter, the EV industry should let the cars sell themselves on merit rather than relying on massive government handouts.
