There are concerns the steel industry could soon collapse as manufacturers face increasing pressure from rising power prices and cheap imports.

Chief executive of the Australian Steel Institute Mark Cain says they requested the government take action to protect Australia’s steel industry.

“The way it might be implemented would be up to the government to determine how that would be done,” he told Michael McLaren.
