‘Scamming the scammers’ – Australian AI startup fights $2 billion fraud epidemic

Professor Dali Kaafar, CEO of startup Apate.ai, is flipping the script on phone fraud, using AI bots to hold convincing, drawn-out conversations with scammers.
The technology, already used by Commonwealth Bank and TPG, is designed to tie up fraudsters and prevent an estimated $2 billion in annual scam losses in Australia.
