A breastfeeding mother’s social media post about being asked to leave a Virgin Australia business lounge has gone viral, sparking a huge online backlash.

Dr Elise Turner, who was a paying business class ticket-holder, said the incident was “disgusting” and that it highlighted the sort of “treatment that lactating mothers are expected to deal with” in 2025.

Amanda Rose and Clinton Maynard weighed in on the issue, saying “she wasn’t offending anyone”.
