Plane makes emergency landing at Sydney Airport
A plane has been forced to return to Sydney Airport to make an emergency landing following a suspected fuel leak.
A British Airways flight, BA16, was originally en route to Singapore from Sydney and had reached Orange before it was forced to turn around.
In a statement, a spokesperson says the flight returned to Sydney as a precaution following reports of a technical issue.
“The flight landed safely and our teams are working hard to get customers’ journey back on track as soon as possible,” they said.
Sydney Now host Clinton Maynard has obtained exclusive audio of the pilot’s mayday call from aboard the Boeing 787.
