Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has backed Opposition Leader Peter Dutton to take the country in the right direction if successful at the upcoming election after Anthony Albanese officially called the election for May 3.

The former Prime Minister told Mark Levy he hopes Mr Dutton can prove to Australians he’s the one to take a “stable and sensible” approach to addressing the key issues dividing the nation.
