Michael McLaren has called for bike helmets to remain mandatory as discussions about helmets grow.

A committee presenting to an inquiry regarding e-bikes has called for helmet-wearing rules to depend on certain circumstances, leaving the Afternoons host to question how it could be enforced.

“As the circumstances change, so too must the law. And with the arrival of the e-scooter and e-bikes, the law has found itself wanting so legislators are investing the best way to regulate their use where or indeed if it’s appropriate,” he said.
