Virtual fencing is being used as a way of helping graziers manage cattle more efficiently.

NQ Dry Tropics is partnering with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries to trial technology that uses WiFi to establish a virtual paddock boundary and limit the movement of cattle fitted with special collars.

Rural reporter Sophie Clarke caught up with Drought Resilience Coordinator Marc McConnell to find out how the tech works.
