‘We do raise good men’ – Trinity Grammar School Headmaster backs single-sex schools

Michael McLaren

Headmaster of Trinity Grammar, Tim Bowden, has commented on all-boys schools transitioning into co-educational institutions, stating that Trinity Grammar School will remain same-sex.

He explained that all-boys schools are able to “structure and build” the school environment to facilitate boys’ learning, based on their specific needs, which differ from girls’ learning.

“The reality is that a toxic culture in schools can form around any cluster of students, whether male or female, whether it’s a public, independent or systemic school, any school can have a negative impact on young people that come out”, Bowen said.

“And I challenge the idea that you can’t raise good men in a single-sex school”.
