Ray recalls the legendary Rugby League commentator, Frank Hyde, on the 40th anniversary of his last Grand Final call on 2SM.

Frank called 33 consecutive NSW Rugby League Grand Finals between 1953 and 1983 and remains one of the game’s greats.

As one of Ray’s mentors throughout his career in Rugby League commentary, Ray reflects on Frank’s significant impact on the sport

“He was the best, without doubt,” Ray said

“To be equal with him…is something I treasure. I know, given the help he gave me and how generous he was, that he’d be proud of where we’d come to.”
