‘War on feral cats’: Environment Minister backs government action plan
Environment Minister, Tanya Plibersek, has defended the government’s action plan aimed at eradicating feral cats, in order to prevent the extinction of native species.
She pleaded with the public to keep their house cats inside overnight and to be aware of cats that are around.
Plibersek explained, “Can you imagine an Australia where you can’t see a koala in the wild?”.
“That’s where we’re headed if we don’t start to deal with these big environmental threats”.
