Chris O’Keefe gives his impassioned reason why he’s voting ‘Yes’ in The Voice referendum

Chris O'Keefe

Chris O’Keefe has made clear his reasons for supporting The Voice to Parliament, saying the system is currently broken and something needs to be done to try and alter the possibilities for Indigenous people.

O’Keefe bases his view on the failing way this country has tried to aid and support Indigenous peoples, believing a ‘Yes’ vote would be one that is at least promising to try and fix this divide and gap.

“I reckon this thing is worth a shot. And we say in this country, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’, Well, Indigenous disadvantage is broken and if The Voice is being proposed to fix that, then I’m not going to argue with it”, he told Drive listeners.
