After losing one of their twin daughters to Necrotising Enterocolitis (NEC), a condition that affects premature babies, Joe and Danielle Capaldi founded the Madison Capaldi Research Fund.

They’ve since raised over $600,000 for researching NEC and other premature baby illnesses through fundraising events and the Kokoda Challenge.

In September/October 2023, the MCRF plans to undertake the Everest Base Camp Trek to raise money for NEC research at The Royal Hospital.
